About Virginia
I am a highly experienced teacher and librarian based in Darwin, Northern Territory, with over 20 years in education. I currently work as a Teacher Librarian in a Junior School IB college, where I specialize in teaching literacy, research skills, inquiry learning, and fostering a love of reading from ELC to Year 5 students. I have a deep understanding of the Australian Curriculum (ACARA) and the International Baccalaureate (IB), making me well-equipped to support students in English, literacy, writing, spelling, and research skills at all levels. Beyond my teaching expertise, I also have extensive experience in: • Editing and proofreading (assignments, essays, reports, resumes) • Phonics and early literacy development • AI, computer literacy, and research skills, including referencing and academic integrity I am passionate about helping students gain confidence, improve their skills, and succeed in their studies. My approach is friendly, patient, and supportive, ensuring that every session is engaging and tailored to each student’s unique needs. Whether a student needs extra help to catch up, refine their writing skills, or develop strong research techniques, I am committed to helping them achieve their best.
