• When did you develop an interest in your chosen field and in private tutoring?

  Maths is one of my favourite subject. I started exploring speed maths when I was preparing for MBA examinations. Whilst I was pursuing MBA, I gradually developed interest in education and tutoring. This was sparked by a genuine passion for helping others learn and grow. This fascination grew as I witnessed the positive impact personalised learning experiences can have on my students.
  
  Transitioning into private tutoring was a natural progression, driven by a desire to provide tailored support and guidance to students seeking to excel academically.

• Tell us more about the subject you teach, the topics you like to discuss with students (and possibly those you like a little less).

  I love teaching Mathematics and Logical reasoning. Some of topics that I like to discuss with my students are - Fractions, Percentages, Ratios, Time Speed and Distance, Permutations and Combinations, Geometry, Probability and Logical reasoning

• What do you think are the qualities required to be a good tutor?

  For a tutor to be effective, it is important that he is a good listener, is patient and is able to create a secure and comfortable environment for students to make mistakes. These mistakes are the only way to find gaps and mould courses in a way that helps the student's performance in the subject.

• Provide a valuable anecdote related to your subject or your days at school.

  During my time as a math teacher, I encountered a student who was struggling with algebra. Despite numerous attempts to explain the concepts, they still couldn't grasp the material. Determined to find a solution, I decided to incorporate real-life examples into our lessons. We used objects like apples and oranges to represent variables and equations, making abstract concepts tangible. Seeing the student's eyes light up as they finally understood the principles of algebra was incredibly rewarding. This experience taught me the importance of adapting teaching methods to suit individual learning styles and the power of perseverance in helping students succeed in math.

• What were the difficulties or challenges you faced or are still facing in your subject?

  Creating new engaging Maths questions to be used in Weekly Quiz is a highly time consuming activity. Hence, I expect my students to attempt these exams in controlled exam like environment.

• What makes you a Superprof (besides answering these interview questions)?

  My grandmother and my mother have spent more than half of their life educating children. I draw a lot of motivation from their life and the satisfaction they used to get by giving back to the society. I would like to do my bit by preparing kids for selective examinations.
