About Parveen

I bring a strong understanding of how students learn, grounded in years of classroom practice and aligned with the Victorian Curriculum. I am confident in assessing student needs, identifying gaps, and tailoring learning to ensure steady and meaningful progress.

I have extensive experience working with students with diverse learning needs, including those with a range of disabilities and students learning English as an additional language. I understand that every learner processes information differently, and I adapt my teaching to suit their individual needs. This may include breaking tasks into smaller steps, using visual supports, providing additional scaffolding, or adjusting the pace of learning to ensure success.

Parents often share that their children feel more confident and engaged as a result of this personalized approach. Students become more willing to take risks in their learning and begin to see themselves as capable learners.

About the lesson

I’m a Primary classroom teacher with over 20 years of experience, holding a Bachelor of Education and a Master of Educational Leadership from the University of Melbourne. I support students from Foundation to Year 10 in English and Mathematics, and I understand how to align tutoring with what students are learning at school.

My approach is calm, structured, and personalised. I take the time to get to know each student; where they’re at, what they find challenging, and what helps them feel confident. From there, I design lessons that break learning into manageable steps, using clear explanations, modelling, and guided practice before moving into independent work. I place a strong focus on building confidence, because once students start to believe they can do it, everything shifts.

I also work closely with parents. I keep communication open, provide regular updates, and share what we’re working on so you can feel confident about your child’s progress. If there are specific goals; whether it’s catching up, extending, or preparing for NAPLAN, we work on those together as a team.

Lessons are typically 60 minutes and are structured to include explicit teaching, practice, and feedback. I adjust each session based on how your child is progressing, so the learning always feels targeted and purposeful.

My tutoring is ideal for students who may feel unsure or anxious about their learning, those who need to strengthen foundational skills, and those who are ready to be extended further. I aim to create a supportive space where students feel comfortable to ask questions, take risks, and grow.
