About Dominika

I am a high-energy, dedicated educator who believes that every child deserves a teacher who truly "gets" them. My journey into education started with a deep fascination with child development, leading me to earn my Degree in Early Childhood Studies and eventually my PGCE with QTS. As a current ECT, I live and breathe the primary curriculum every day, but I bring something to my tutoring that you won’t find in a standard textbook: a vibrant, multicultural perspective.

I moved to the UK from sunny Greece back in 2012, and I am proud to be bilingual, speaking English, Polish, and Greek! You’ll quickly learn that I’m a big personality, I still occasionally shout "Opa!" when a student produces a brilliant piece of work, and if you hear me counting in another language, you'll know I'm just keeping all those words sorted in my brain!

I am a firm believer that tutoring is a partnership. I am completely open to your own wants and needs as a parent; I don't believe in "one size fits all" and I love tailoring my approach to match your child’s personality. Whether they love The Gruffalo, are obsessed with Spiderman, or live for Basketball, I find ways to weave their passions into our learning.

When I’m not in the classroom (or my virtual one), you’ll likely find me:

• Recharging at the beach (my absolute favourite UK spot).

• Swimming, travelling, or playing basketball.

• Getting creative with Art or solving Maths puzzles.

• Enjoying a bit of chocolate or some lasagne

I am here to inspire confidence and show your child that learning isn't just a school requirement, it is an adventure. I can't wait to meet you and start our journey together.

My Teaching Approach & Methodology
As a Qualified Teacher (QTS) and Early Childhood Specialist, my approach is entirely student-centred. I believe that you, as a parent, know your child best, and I am fully open to your specific wants and needs. Whether you want to focus on a particular "weak spot" identified in a school report, follow a specific interest your child has to boost engagement, or simply build general confidence, I adapt my planning to suit your family's goals.

My methodology includes:

The CPA Approach (Concrete, Pictorial, Abstract): Using virtual tools to make tricky concepts visible and easy to grasp.

Scaffolded Independence: I use the "I Do, We Do, You Do" model to build confidence.

Adaptable Planning: My lessons are never "off-the-shelf." I pivot my teaching style based on how your child is feeling and what you want us to achieve together.

Spiral Learning: I constantly revisit previous topics to ensure knowledge is moved from short-term to long-term memory.

Holistic EYFS Pedagogy: For my youngest learners, I utilise my Early Childhood degree to integrate play-based learning and verbal communication skills into our digital sessions.

Typical Lesson Length
I usually recommend 60-minute sessions for most primary ages to allow for deep learning and reflection. However, I am entirely flexible and open to the individual needs of your child and your family. For EYFS or Year 1 pupils, I am happy to offer 30 or 45-minute sessions to better suit their natural attention spans and keep the learning high-energy and positive. Ultimately, I am happy to adjust the duration and frequency of our sessions to align with your specific goals and your child’s unique learning pace.

My Qualifications & Experience
I am a highly trained education professional:

BA (Hons) in Early Childhood Studies: Specialist knowledge in developmental milestones.

PGCE with QTS: Fully accredited by the Department for Education.

Current ECT (Early Career Teacher): I am currently working in the classroom, so I am 100% up-to-date with the 2026 National Curriculum and assessment standards.

Who the Lessons Are For
My lessons are for children aged 3 to 11 (EYFS, KS1, and KS2). I am here for:

Working below age-related expectations and needs to close "learning gaps."

Developing their foundational skills in the Early Years.

Preparing for the transition to Secondary school or KS2 SATs.

Children who need a bespoke approach tailored to their specific learning style.

Students needing a boost in confidence across the full primary curriculum.

Families who want a tutor who listens and collaborates with them to meet specific academic or developmental targets.
