About Patrick
I am an experienced English teacher specializing in 11th and 12th grade English, with a focus on British Literature, special topics courses, and advanced essay writing. My teaching approach integrates college-level composition techniques with an immersive study of literature, helping students develop analytical thinking and strong writing skills, and hopefully a deeper love of literature. With a background in college instruction and degrees in creative writing and literature, I bring a unique perspective to literary studies—examining texts from Old English classics to contemporary works. My goal is to foster critical thinking, effective communication, and a deeper appreciation for storytelling across time periods and genres. I believe literature is more than an academic subject—it is a lens through which we understand history, culture, and human experience. I strive to make each lesson meaningful and tailored to my students' strengths, whether they are refining their essay writing, preparing for college-level coursework, or exploring literature in new and thought-provoking ways.
