About Atharva
I'm a Chemistry teacher based in Nagpur, India, with over 5 years of experience helping students not just pass Chemistry — but genuinely understand it and enjoy it.
My teaching career began at Vedantu, one of India's largest ed-tech platforms, where I served as a Master Teacher for JEE and NEET — India's most competitive science entrance examinations. Over three years there, I worked with students across the country, refining my ability to explain complex concepts clearly, quickly diagnose where a student is struggling, and adapt my approach to different learning styles. Alongside this, I have been associated with a leading coaching center in Nagpur since 2021, where I continue to teach Grades 11 and 12 Chemistry to this day.
In total, I have taught over 5,000 students — and the results speak for themselves. This year, one of my students topped Nagpur city in the HSC Class 12 board examination with an outstanding 97.83% in Chemistry. Moments like these remind me why I chose this profession.
Beyond India, I have been tutoring an international student based in Sweden through one-on-one online sessions. She has shown significant improvement in her Chemistry concepts over our time together — a result I'm genuinely proud of, and one that reflects how well my structured, concept-first approach translates across different curricula and learning backgrounds.
I hold a graduate degree from RBU, a recognized deemed university, and my subject expertise spans the full range of Chemistry — Physical, Organic, and Inorganic — across multiple curricula including JEE, NEET, IB, A-Level, AP, and IGCSE.
What sets me apart is simple: I care about understanding, not just marks. I take the time to build concepts from first principles, I personalize every lesson to the student in front of me, and I don't move forward until the foundation is solid. Whether you are a Grade 11 student encountering mole concepts for the first time, or a Grade 12 student preparing for a high-stakes international exam, I will meet you exactly where you are.
If you are looking for a Chemistry tutor who combines deep subject knowledge, proven exam results, international teaching experience, and genuine patience — I'd love to hear from you.

My Teaching Approach & Methodology
Chemistry has a reputation for being intimidating — but in my experience teaching over 5,000 students across 5+ years, that fear almost always comes from concepts not being explained clearly the first time. My entire approach is built around fixing that.
How I Explain Concepts
I teach Chemistry the way I wish it had been taught to me — starting from the "why" before moving to the "what." Whether it's organic reaction mechanisms, electrochemistry, or chemical equilibrium, I first build an intuitive picture before introducing equations and formulae. I use analogies, real-world examples, and visual reasoning extensively so that the concept sticks, not just the answer.
Typical Class Structure
A standard session with me follows a three-part structure:
Opening (10 min): Quick recall of the previous session — I ask questions rather than repeat theory, because retrieval practice builds stronger memory than re-reading.
Core teaching (35–40 min): New concept explained from first principles, followed by worked examples of increasing difficulty. I pause frequently to check understanding — I'd rather go slower and build correctly than rush and leave gaps.
Practice & Wrap-up (10–15 min): Student attempts problems independently while I observe their approach, not just their answer. This is where I catch misconceptions early. We close with a summary and a preview of what's next.
My Special Features as a Teacher
Exam intelligence: Having coached thousands of JEE and NEET students, I know exactly how questions are twisted, where students lose marks, and what examiners actually reward. I bring this pattern recognition to international curricula like IB, A-Level, and AP Chemistry as well — the content overlaps significantly, but the exam technique differs, and I train students on both.
Personalized pacing: I don't follow a one-size-fits-all timeline. In my current international experience tutoring a student based in Sweden, I observed that her gaps were specific and conceptual rather than broad — so we focused precisely there, and she showed significant improvement in a short time. Every student gets a learning plan built around their actual weaknesses, not a generic syllabus.
No jargon before clarity: I never introduce a technical term until the student has understood the idea behind it. This prevents the common problem of students who can recite definitions but can't apply them.
Accountability between sessions: I assign targeted practice problems after each class and review them at the start of the next. This keeps momentum going between sessions and tells me exactly where to focus.
Who My Classes Are For
My sessions are designed for:
Grades 11 & 12 students preparing for board exams (CBSE, ISC, HSC, IGCSE, A-Level) — I have direct results here, including a student who topped Nagpur city in the HSC Class 12 board exam with 97.83% this year.
Competitive exam aspirants targeting JEE (Mains & Advanced) and NEET — this is my deepest area of expertise with 5+ years and 5,000+ students.
International curriculum students studying IB Chemistry (SL & HL), AP Chemistry, A-Level, and IGCSE — the depth of JEE/NEET training maps excellently onto these rigorous curricula.
Students who have struggled with Chemistry before and need someone to rebuild their foundation patiently rather than just push forward.
Grades 8,9 and 10 students preparing for foundation courses and CBSE exams
I currently teach students across India and internationally, and I'm comfortable adapting my style, examples, and pace to suit students from different educational backgrounds and countries.
