About Liam
I hold an MMath degree and have been tutoring mathematics for over five years. My passion goes beyond equations and problem-solving — I’m deeply fascinated by the history of mathematics and how human thought has shaped it over centuries. I love exploring how ancient civilizations, from Babylon to India to Greece, laid the foundations for the concepts we use today. In my sessions, I weave in stories of great mathematicians and the origins of famous theorems. We talk about how geometry grew from practical land measurement, or how algebra evolved from trade and commerce. I believe these narratives help students see mathematics not as a cold, abstract subject, but as a living, evolving journey of human curiosity. By understanding the context behind discoveries, students develop a deeper respect for the subject. They see that every formula has a history and every method was born from a real-world challenge. I guide learners to appreciate the cultural and intellectual heritage behind the numbers and patterns they study. My teaching approach in Math is nurturing, personalized, and designed to make learning both effective and enjoyable.
