About Jonathan

My name is Jonathan. I have taught Mathematics for 33 years and remain at the very top of my game. I live in East Sussex with my wife and two boys who are now following undergraduate courses at Cambridge and Manchester. Students make rapid progress and feel relaxed and supported in my company. Many students remain with me throughout their journey in Mathematics. I have a degree in Mathematics, have led large teams of teachers, been a senior marker for a major UK exam company, a fellow of an interactive whiteboard company and an Advanced skills teacher. I have an enhanced DBS and £10M of personal liability insurance.

About the lesson

I'm an advanced skills teacher who has been trained in the very best methods of supporting students from any starting point. I have 24 years' teaching experience, leading both mathematics departments and supporting colleagues in other institutions to bring out the best in the students they teach. The past 8 years I have run my own tutoring business and delivered over 10,000 hours of high-quality lessons helping students on their journey to the next stage of life. I build on what students already understand. I don't attempt to make everybody deliver mathematics in the same way I do but instead, take what is already there and enhance the understanding. I offer lesson lengths from 30 minutes upwards and am happy to work with parents and students to find the perfect amount of time that delivers both progress and value for money. I teach from KS2 up to Y13.
