About Pritam

I'm a Mathematics Graduate with a Master's degree, currently preparing for doctoral entrance, and I'm heavily interested in Algebraic Geometry. Actually, when I started my Math journey as an undergrad, I faced a massive challenge regarding the transition to formal proof-based Mathematics from intuitive Mathematics. What I mean by intuitive Mathematics is you see the precollege level stuff you can visualize, most of them have a Geometric and Graphical interpretation, but coming to the undergraduate Mathematics, we have to rely on formal rigor rather than geometric intuition. In my precollege mathematics days, I was heavily interested in Geometry and visualization, and that's why I always tried to visualize everything Geometrically, and that habit of mine created a massive hindrance in my undergraduate Mathematics journey. Then I learned the absolute truth that gave me the answer "why even we need pure mathematics or rigorous proof-based Mathematics in the first place?". The answer is where Geometry hits a wall, from there rigorous proof-based Mathematics takes the driving seat. That's why I can understand what an undergrad actually faces when he first learns abstract proof-based Mathematics. So I'll make sure the problems I faced as a newbie undergrad aren't gonna happen in your case.

My goal is to mentor students who are looking for clarity in challenging subjects like Real Analysis, Linear Algebra, Complex Analysis, and Abstract Algebra. I take pride in my ability to explain complex proofs, identify common logical pitfalls, and provide counter-examples that illuminate the "why" behind Mathematical Theorems.

As I've experience with Doctoral Entrances of Top Tier Institutions like TIFR, ISI, and CMI, and during the preparation for these exams, I learned the art of problem-solving, how to think out of the box, and how to deconstruct an intimidating problem and use the very elementary tools to solve that.

About the lesson

Mathematics at the undergraduate level is often taught through a computational lens, but true mastery requires a transition into the world of formal proofs, axiomatic structures, and rigorous logical deduction. My sessions are specifically designed for students who want to move beyond surface-level problem-solving to understand the internal architecture of their subject matter.
I specialize in guiding students through the most challenging modules of their degree, including Real Analysis, Linear Algebra, Complex Analysis, and Abstract Algebra (Group and Ring Theory). My approach is deeply focused on the 'why' behind the 'what'. We will dissect Theorems, examine the boundaries of mathematical definitions, and utilize "pathological" counter-examples to challenge the limits of established Theorems. By deconstructing the logic behind complex proofs, I'll help you build a robust mathematical intuition that standard lectures often lack.

I conduct all tutorials via Google Meet, utilizing screen-sharing to work through proofs and derivations in real-time. This ensures a highly interactive, classroom-like environment where we can collaborate on problem sets and discuss nuances in detail. Every session is recorded so you can revisit the logical flow of our proofs whenever you need, providing a permanent reference for your revision.
