About Amber
I am a guitar tutor with 11 years of experience in band coaching and ensemble leadership. I hold a Bachelor of Music Education with a focus on Guitar, which has given me a strong foundation in both performance and teaching. My lessons are designed to develop not only individual skill but also strong group musicianship. I guide students in rhythm control, timing, harmony, and stage coordination.
I specialise in collaborative playing where students learn how to listen, adapt, and perform as a team. I help learners arrange cover songs in different styles such as rock, pop, blues, and jazz. Students are also encouraged to explore songwriting and create their own original music from simple ideas to complete compositions. I provide structured support in understanding song structure, chord progressions, and musical dynamics.
Beyond technical learning, I actively mentor students in forming bands and working together creatively. I assist them in organising rehearsals, planning live performances, and building confidence on stage. For advanced learners, I also guide basic recording techniques and demo creation so they can showcase their music. I focus on discipline, communication, and creative expression within a group setting.
Every session is aimed at building trust, coordination, and musical understanding among players. I believe music becomes powerful when shared, not just played alone. Together, we will develop strong musical synergy and turn individual talent into a unified and exciting sound.

My guitar teaching approach is structured yet flexible, designed to support learners from beginner to advanced levels across acoustic, classical, electric, jazz, and bass guitar. I focus on building strong fundamentals such as posture, hand positioning, rhythm, and chord transitions before moving into advanced techniques. Each lesson is adapted to the student’s pace, ensuring steady progress without pressure. I use clear step by step demonstrations so students can easily understand and repeat what they learn.
For neurodiverse learners, I adjust my teaching style with patience and understanding, breaking concepts into smaller and manageable parts. I often use sensory learning tools such as rhythm tapping, visual chord charts, colour coded fret markers, and audio repetition to strengthen memory and coordination. Lessons are highly interactive, allowing students to learn through listening, watching, and hands on practice. I maintain a calm and encouraging environment that reduces stress and increases focus.
I also specialise in helping learners develop musical expression in styles like strumming based performance playing and jazz improvisation. Students who enjoy rhythmic storytelling and campfire style playing are guided to build smooth transitions, singing with chords, and confident strumming patterns. For those interested in jazz inspired exploration, I introduce scale awareness, timing variation, and creative improvisation techniques.
Positive reinforcement is central to my teaching method, and I consistently highlight progress to build confidence and motivation. I encourage students to set personal goals and achieve them step by step. Over time, learners develop not only technical skill but also a strong passion for guitar and independent musical creativity.
