About Julian
I’m an experienced teacher, examiner, and senior leader—including sixth form leadership—with over 21 years of teaching and tutoring experience. I have a proven track record of helping students achieve outstanding results in History, Geography, and university applications. Whether you're preparing for Oxbridge interviews, aiming for top grades at A-Level, or just starting out on your GCSE journey, I will tailor each session to your individual goals and learning style. As a senior teacher, I work with only a small number of tutees each year to ensure that I can give each student my full attention. I am fully committed to their success—supporting them to achieve excellent outcomes, grow in confidence, and develop lasting academic skills. I am highly adaptable and experienced in supporting a wide range of learners—from high-achieving students seeking stretch and challenge, to those who need patient, structured guidance to build knowledge and confidence from the ground up. Although I’m new to this platform, I bring years of tutoring experience and have a strong portfolio of references and recommendations from past students and parents, which I’m happy to share on request.

I have been teaching since 2004 and hold a PGCE in Secondary History. Every student is different, so I adapt my approach to meet your individual needs. My lessons combine clear explanations, structured guidance, questioning, and focused exam practice. I balance content knowledge with skills development—helping you not just understand more, but apply it confidently in exams. I am a patient and supportive tutor, skilled at building confidence where it's needed most. At the same time, I provide stretch and challenge for students aiming to push themselves further. My aim is simple: after every session, you should know more, do more, and feel more confident. I can either visit you or conduct lessons online. My lesson range from an hour to two hours long (usually only for A level).
