About Zoltán

Mathematics and Science are often taught as a set of rules to follow, but I’ve always seen them as a language for solving problems. My journey into high-level STEM led me to the University of York, where I earned my Master’s degree. This academic background gave me a deep appreciation for the "big picture" in Mathematics, something I now pass on to every student I tutor.

I founded Z-STEM Tuition because I saw too many bright students losing confidence simply because they were told to "just learn the formula." My goal is to change that. Whether we are tackling A-Level Further Maths or GCSE Chemistry, I bring a calm, patient, and highly structured approach to every session.

About the lesson

I believe that high-level Mathematics shouldn't feel like a series of disconnected formulae to be memorised. I focus on what I call the "Z-Axis", the depth of understanding behind the logic. With a Master’s degree from the University of York, I specialise in helping students bridge the gap between basic calculation and the complex problem-solving required for top grades.

My Methodology:

Logic-First Learning: We don't just find the answer; we break down the why. This is essential for Further Maths and A-Level Mechanics, where the exam questions are designed to be "unseen."

Interactive Digital Whiteboard: I use a high-tech online setup where we both write on the screen in real-time. It feels like we are sitting at the same desk, making online learning highly collaborative.

Exam Board Mastery: I focus specifically on Edexcel and AQA patterns, teaching students how to decipher "wordy" questions and maximise marks on the hardest multi-step problems.

Typical Lesson Structure:

Lessons are typically 60 minutes, though I offer 90-minute "Deep Dive" sessions for complex Further Maths topics.

Every session begins with a quick "recap challenge" to ensure previous knowledge is locked in.

We spend the bulk of the time on active problem-solving, not lecturing.
