About Darryl
Hello! I'm Darryl Delorey, an experienced tutor dedicated to helping students discover and achieve their full potential. With a strong interdisciplinary background in English, art, and graphic design, I bring a unique and holistic approach to teaching. I specialize in working with students with ADHD and learning differences, using innovative methods to turn their challenges into strengths.
My Background:
I hold a Bachelor of Arts degree from Concordia University, where I developed a deep understanding of both the creative and analytical aspects of my subjects. Additionally, I have diplomas and certifications in software such as Adobe Cloud and Ableton Live. As an autodidact, I have pursued extensive self-education, constantly extending my knowledge and skills beyond formal education. My extensive professional experience in various fields, including education, the arts, and design, enables me to bring a wealth of real-world knowledge to my teaching.
Teaching Philosophy:
Every student is unique and capable of achieving great things. I believe in creating an engaging, supportive, and inclusive learning environment. To cater to diverse learning styles, I use a variety of teaching methods, including interactive activities, hands-on projects, and visual aids. By incorporating real-world examples and practical general knowledge, I make learning relevant and enjoyable.
Expertise in ADHD and Learning Differences:
Working with students with ADHD and learning differences is my specialty. I understand the unique challenges these students face and tailor my teaching approach to meet their individual needs. Through nonlinear and unconventional problem-solving methods, I help students develop their unique skills and overcome their limitations. My approach emphasizes overcoming obstacles and challenging the status quo, empowering students to think creatively and embrace their individuality.
Commitment to Students:
My commitment to my students goes beyond academic success. I strive to help them become well-rounded individuals with a wide range of knowledge. By emphasizing practical general knowledge and real-life examples, I help students understand the relevance of what they are learning and how it can be applied in their everyday lives. My mission is to inspire confidence, foster creativity, and promote a lifelong love of learning in my students.
As an educator, I am committed to providing a professional and supportive educational experience. Whether you are a high school or college student, an adult learner, or a professional seeking to enhance your skills, I am here to help you succeed. By embracing both formal education and self-directed learning, I bring a unique perspective that empowers students to overcome obstacles and achieve their goals.

Methods and Techniques for Teaching:
Especially for students with ADHD and learning differences, I tailor my teaching approach to meet their individual needs. Using a mixture of fun, real-world examples, and practical general knowledge, I make learning engaging and relevant. To keep students engaged, I use interactive activities, hands-on projects, and visual aids. My dynamic teaching style incorporates movement, breaks, and varied instructional strategies to cater to diverse learning styles and foster a love of learning.
Typical Lesson Plan:
For reinforcement of learning and confidence, lessons typically begin with a review of previous material. During English classes, students may be given interactive reading and writing exercises tied to real-world contexts, while during art and graphic design classes, students might be given creative projects. A variety of structured yet flexible activities are incorporated into each lesson, incorporating real-world examples and general knowledge that can be applied to the workplace. Using this approach not only helps students focus but also shows their understanding of what they are learning. The session ends with a reflection period for questions, progress discussions, and personalized feedback.
As a Tutor, I Stand Out for the Following Reasons:
In my work, I believe that by embracing fun and real-life examples, students will be able to understand and apply their knowledge practically. What sets me apart is my commitment to turning learning differences into strengths. As an English, art, and graphic design graduate with an interdisciplinary background, I am able to provide a holistic learning environment that fosters cognitive and creative development. I also stress the importance of being well-rounded and knowledgeable across a variety of subjects, so students can discover their unique strengths and talents.
This Lesson Is For:
The lessons I teach are tailored to meet the needs of students of all ages, including students with ADHD and learning differences. I have customized lesson plans for students in high school and college, adults seeking to improve their skills, and professionals seeking to enhance their skills. In my classroom, I aim to make learning an enjoyable and rewarding experience, helping students overcome their unique challenges and achieve academic and personal success.
It is my goal to empower students to become well-rounded individuals, discover their unique skills, and achieve their full potential by using non-traditional teaching methods, fun real-world examples, and practical knowledge.
