About Destiny

Hello I'm Destiny! I graduated with my Master's in Library Science and my Bachelor's in Elementary Education. I was a 7th grade teacher for 2 years and a Kindergarten teacher for 1 year. I also have worked with students in schools of all ages. I have been tutoring reading for K-8th grade students for 4+ years. When I was tutoring in person, I helped students grasp concepts through hands-on learning. I also helped by coming up with creative solutions for students that were struggling. Some subjects that I was tasked to tutor were Algebra 1, Elementary Science, Basic Elementary Skills, Spelling, and Writing, SAT and ACT Prep among many others. I created a study skills curriculum that was used in a major tutoring company in the Milwaukee area. I tutored 20 students during the summer on their study skills and helped many of them to navigate through their years of middle and high school with that program. I consider this to be my best subject and my most successful subject.

About the lesson

In my tutoring approach, I strive to create an exciting and immersive learning environment for middle school students. With over 5 years of tutoring experience, I've discovered that students thrive when they actively participate in the learning process. That's why my lessons are designed to be one hour long, packed with fun interactive games that make learning enjoyable and memorable.

Instead of relying solely on traditional instruction, I firmly believe in the power of hands-on learning. I encourage students to learn by doing, allowing them to explore concepts actively and develop a deeper understanding of the subjects. This approach not only enhances their problem-solving skills but also boosts their confidence in tackling academic challenges.

To make the learning journey even more stimulating, I incorporate a variety of visuals in my lessons. Visual aids help to simplify complex topics, making them more accessible and relatable for students. Whether it's using colorful diagrams, charts, or multimedia presentations, these visual aids enhance comprehension and retention.

With my tutoring, your child will not only improve their academic performance but also develop a genuine interest in the subjects they study.
