About Caitlyn
My name is Caitlyn! I'm a student at the University of Guelph studying a BSc in Biology and a minor in French. I have several years experience tutoring both elementary school and high school students. I have an award for highest mark in French in my graduating class, spent several years on the honour roll and am currently pursuing a concentration in French as my minor for my degree program, therefore I am competent and experienced in the French language.
My love for the French language started at 9 years old, when mandatory French lessons began in school, and now over 10 years later, it is still my favorite! I took it all through elementary and high school, and now at the highest level in university. It is a beautiful language which has many uses for professional opportunities, world travel, as well as increased brain activity and creativity!
I am patient, very experienced with kids of all ages, empathetic and very validating. I can ensure that the student will gain confidence in the subject matter.

I prefer to approach teaching in a flexible way; no two students learn the exact same way and I am dedicated to getting to know the student to then devise a study plan for them and a course of teaching.
A first lesson would be spent getting to know the student; any learning preferences and what level of prior knowledge the student has. I would preform a diagnostic test for the student to get a feel for this, so that I know where to start and how to proceed. After this, any time spent with the student would include homework help, teaching a lesson, examining the school teacher's lessons and explaining them or whatever else the student may need. I am prepared to work hard and dedicate my time to the student to ensure their success. We both want the student to succeed!
