About Shera

As a graduate of the University of Houston with a degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, and Biology, I bring both academic knowledge and real teaching experience to every session. With a strong background in algebra, precalculus, and biology, I’m passionate about helping students truly understand the material rather than just memorize it. My time as a tutor at Kumon taught me the value of patience, structure, and consistency. I tailor each lesson to fit the student’s needs, pace, and goals. Whether you are struggling with core concepts or preparing for an upcoming exam, I’m here to guide you with clear explanations, step-by-step support, and encouragement every step of the way. About the lesson

My tutoring approach is patient, engaging, and tailored to each student’s unique learning style. I believe in building a strong foundation by simplifying complex concepts and using real-life examples to make subjects like algebra, precalculus, and biology easier to understand. I encourage active participation and always create a comfortable space for students to ask questions and grow their confidence.

A typical lesson begins with a quick review of previous material, followed by a focused explanation of the new topic using visuals or step-by-step problem solving. I then guide the student through practice problems, gradually encouraging independent work. I end each session with a brief recap and tips for improvement.

What sets me apart is my experience in both academic and hands-on environments. With a degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, and Biology from the University of Houston, along with past experience at Kumon, I bring structure and encouragement to every session. I’ve worked with students from elementary to college level, and I especially enjoy helping high school and college students strengthen their math and science skills.

My lessons are ideal for middle school to early college students who need help in algebra, precalculus, biology, or related science courses.
