About Raul

I started my professional singing career at the age of 10 when I joined the internationally acclaimed All-American Boys Chorus. I then went on to join The Young Americans credited with being the first show choir in America, mixing choreography with choral singing doing performances all over the country, and teaching at schools through the Musical Outreach tours created to help save performing arts programs. Classical music piqued my interest in high school which led me to enter several classical vocal competitions where I received several awards. The dedication to my craft was noticed by the head of the music department at Chapman University, Dr. William Hall, who offered me a full music scholarship to join the opera program.

Working as a professional singer offered me the opportunity to travel all over the world. For a few years, I worked on Royal Caribbean and Renaissance Cruise Lines as the lead singer in the main stage production shows. I was part of several regional productions including La Cage Aux Folles, West Side Story, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, South Pacific, Evita, Miss Saigon, Ragtime, and Flower Drum Song to name a few. I was also part of the original cast of Disney's Aladdin: A Musical Spectacular at Disney's California Adventure.

I studied classical, musical theater, and pop with some of the top vocal coaches in the country including Billy Purnell, Maurice Allard, Peter Atherton, Jan Ritchel, Joan Simonek, and Rachael Lawrence. My last vocal coach was Guy Babusek who was a student of the legendary voice teacher to the stars and originator of Speech Level Singing, Seth Riggs for 16 years.

I have devoted over 30 years of my life to perfecting my craft and am really excited to share everything I've learned along the way with my students. My mission with all my students is to make them feel more confident in their craft and to be well prepared to achieve success in the entertainment industry if they wish to pursue that.
