About Ellen
One-on-one swimming lessons at the students pace. Most of my students are adults who never learned to swim, many are fearful. Even seasoned adult swimmers need improvement in technique to be more efficient and eliminate stress on their neck or shoulders. Like an old-time golfer getting a lesson with the golf pro, swimmers should get a tune-up to help them find the correct balance, streamlining, and propulsion to swim effortlessly. Streamlining it the absolute key to better swimming. I'm a certified Red Cross Water Safety Instructor with decades of experience. My website is (concealed information)
I enjoy the challenge to present exactly what the individual traninee needs to improve their skills. Each step builds upon the last. It all adds up to a dance created for each individual trainee.
I started as a 14 year old Water Safety Aid. Sharing the joy of swimming is a pleasure for me.
I've been a water bug all my life. When I was 16 years old I taught adults who didn't know how to swim and loved it. After a career as an attorney I retired and went back to teaching swimming. I'm certfied by the Red Cross as a Water Safety Instructor and insured for lessons. I've studied Total Immersion Swimming and other similar methods.

All lessons are at the student's pace. The first step is to get comfortable in the water. From there we work on balance, then streamlining. The we start to put the arms and legs in action.
PLEASE NOTE, DUE TO COVID IT IS DIFFICULT TO TEACH AT THE SANTA FE CITY POOLS. IF YOU HAVE ACCESS TO THE POOL, I AM WILLING TO COME TO YOU.
All kinds from the very fearful to the triathelete. From 6 months old to 93 years.

Details
Lessons are $55 per hour which include a followup email with a lesson review to help the student practice between lessons. I'll also share some photos or video taken during the lesson.
