About Luz Angela

With reference to the qualifications required for the position, I have experience working as a bilingual teacher for the Alief School District, responsible for teaching ESL classes in Pre-K and Kindergarten grades.

Also, I have been teaching non Spanish speakers for many years and I truly enjoy this profession. I have taught Spanish to children who need to have Spanish as a second language.

I bring to this position strong communication skills along with a sensitivity for other cultures and creativity which is necessary when teaching non Spanish speaking persons. I am also an enthusiastic and a creative person.

I have a degree in law from Colombia and my training is my experience working as bilingual teacher in the US, teaching Spanish in an After school program and volunteering at my local church teaching Sunday school classes in Spanish.

About the lesson

With any new student I want to help them understand where they are and to have a vision of where it is they want to be. Based on their willingness to share and a commitment to do what's necessary to move to that new place, I help them to figure out the path to get there. I let them know, that I will take that journey with them but they have to take the step first.
