About Rachel
I discovered a love for teaching while I was in Graduate School working as a TA. I continued that path with three years in the Peace Corps teaching a variety of subjects at the High School level. I currently have a full-time job but I really miss interacting with students
I have experience working one on one and in small groups to teach core concepts, help with homework, and do test prep. I like to start with reviewing and discussing the concepts needed for the lesson/assignment and then go to the I do/we do/ you do approach. This means that first I demonstrate the skill, then we practice the skill together, then the student does the skill on their own with me on hand to help when they get stuck.
I got started teaching in Graduate School when I was hired as a Teaching Assistant
I have experience working one on one and in small groups to teach core concepts, help with homework, and do test prep. I have 2 years of experience as a Teaching Assistant and Three years of experience teach Math, English, and Social Studies at a High School level
