It was very productive to work with Peter. One of the things that we were focused was to work on chiaro-scuro that now works very good as an idea and in practice. Also the legato and breath-support. I recently participated in Maestro Peter Mark's Masterclass in Beverly Hills, CA. I have worked with the maestro previously in NYC and in Pennsylvania. It has helped me to focus and unify my middle & lower registers. Most importantly, the class helped me to make vocal & musical choices that would cut through large orchestras in good size halls with brilliant vitality top to bottom. One of the biggest challenges as a singer is to acquire viable feedback that would facilitate onstage performances in a large hall over a large ensemble. "From a Conductor's Perspective", Maestro Peter Mark offered unique and honest comments along with practical solutions as a conductor for me. It made a marked difference immediately. The instructions were precise, effective and no-none-sense. As a singer with roots in LA and worked in NYC and the East Coast, I find Maestro's approach especially important to California based singers. There isn't as much exposure to the professional voices as NY based singers. Maestro's work with the singers takes the guesswork out of the equation. I wish I had this available to me when I lived in LA full time. I highly recommend this series of Masterclasses to any west coast based singers who are serious about developing and understanding the professional sound.
