About Angeliz

I help students find their voice by being their advocate. Through encouragment and practice, my students see their potential in surpassing set goals. I would describe my teaching style as energetic and enthusiatic. It is important for my students to feel welcomed in my lessons because I believe students thrive best in a great environment. My goal as a teacher is to explore and build a better understanding of how your voice works. As well as finding ways to improve vocal control and confidence.

I enjoy seeing progress in my students and creating a great teacher-student relationship.

I have a Bachelors of Music Education from Stetson University. Throughout my schooling I have taught lessons for public school students in their music classrooms. I've worked as a private voice teacher in Stetson's community school of music. After completing my trainging, I worked as an intern for Lake Nona High school's choral program. I've substituted short and long term for music teachers in my area under Kelly Educational Services. I currently teach lessons privately and produce music for small artists.

When working with a new student, I would start by getting to to know their musical background, types of music they listen to, and their favorite style of singing, whether it's pop, opera, theater, or other special forms of singing such as overtone singing or yodeling. After getting to know their interest, then its time to become acquainted with their voice. As a way to grasp the voice, we go through a series of warmups. During this process, we will discover the singers range, tone color/timbre and level of vocal agility. From there the student will practice vocal techniques that's taylored to their needs. As we go forward, we will improve the students listening through ear training using fun games and exercises. When the student is ready we will familiarize methods on learning music using real songs of the students interest. During each session, we will build understanding by familiarizing musical terminology specific to each session. I will make slight changes based on age.

I've worked with students from Elementary to College.

Find a vocal teacher who specializes in your desired style of singing. Will they make changes to their teaching style in a way you can understand? Find a teacher you are compatible with.

I look forward to moments where my students get excited when discovering new abilities after sessions of training (vocals riffs and runs, Extending range, hitting far reaching notes with great articulation)

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
What are your goals as a singer? Do you want to work on pitch? Range? Do you want to learn how to belt? Maybe replace previous harmful singing habits with healthly techniques? What is your background in music education/singing? So your teacher can meet your level of skill with standards and goals that better fit you. Mention any physical conditions that may affect your singing. Your teacher wants to make sure that your accomodations are provided.
