About Rachel
Hi there, I'm Ms. Rachel! I would love to work with you!
I have a Bachelor's Degree in Music Education and 1 year of a Commercial Music Masters, both from CSULA, under my belt. I have taught many students ages 3 through seniors for 6 years now.
My lesson plans are student centric. Everyone is different and has different capabilities. We start from scratch, I get to know you and what you can do, and what you need or want help with. Then, I make it my mission to give you all the tools you need to get better!
I’ve worked with hesitant children and come up with lesson plans they were excited about. I’ve worked with students who have “different” abilities. I challenge all of my students to learn basic music theory so they can read sheet music, while learning music they love! I can also turn a singing lesson into a music therapy session if need be. I can teach different genres from pop to musical theater and opera, basic musicianship and songwriting skills, etc.
My favorite part of teaching (aside from spending time with people in general) is helping students break through their barriers. I have quite a few success stories as well, some including students turned into artists! I will do my best to make your lessons the best they can be. All you need to do is give me a try. Hope to see you soon!
Sincerely,
Rachel Schlenz
