About Chelsea

I've helped many students with building their portfolios, learning adobe and developing sewing skills.

I myself design clothing that has shown in NYFW(New York Fashion Week), and CFDA (Council of Fashion Designers of America) showcases and competitions. Links to my work are below:

I obtain an MFA in Fashion Design and a BA in Psychology which aides my ability to help students.

Upon meeting with students I lay out a clear foundation and timeline of what the student wants to accomplish and when. I also offer information and takeaways that may help the students in the future when building a career.

After I obtained my degree in psychology I started working at schools for before and aftercare. I noticed in schools and while looking to obtain a Fashion Design degree, I was limited in learning resources. I wanted to build fashion skills to apply for school, however, there was only one resource that I could use.

Now that I have obtained my MFA I would like to help others build fashion or creative skill so they won't have the same challenges that I faced. I would like to be an additional resource to assist people with sewing, illustrations, technical flats, etc. There is a need for this type of assistance.

About the lesson

Each student has specific goals and deadlines they want to reach. Therefore, it is important to have a meeting that covers expectations and how to reach those goals.

I have long term students as well as one-time session/classes.

My time is flexible therefore I can meet with students more than on time a week or even have virtual sessions if preferred by the students.

I have researched various materials to help to build students skills which I will provide to the students as takeaways after sessions.

I have worked with grade levels K-12, but I have also had one on one session with college students and adults.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Students should understand what they are looking to obtain.

Students should think of a clear deadline.

It is also beneficial for students to look for platforms to share there work. (If it isn't a personal project)
