About Ronda

Teaching people how to use their sewing machine is a awesome feeling. Sewing is a dying art. Even if you know how to use your machine I can help you learn special technics.. put in a zipper, buttonholes, hem your slacks. I'll help you from start to finish on a project. How to read a pattern, cut it out and sew it.

I had craft show customers ask if I could teach them how to make something I've made that they bought

I have 5 years of middle school and high school education. I also have 30+ years of sewing for family friends and craft shows

About the lesson

I ask what their sewing goals are. What they already know, if any about their machines. We will get to know the parts of the machine, thread it, insert the bobbin. Practice sewing on paper. Willing to practice at home between classes. By the end of classes they will have made an item of their choice.

So far I have only worked with adults but I am very willing to teach children as young as 8 years old

Make sure they are thorough, patient and attention to detail

One of my first sewing students make a zippered coin bag and have gone on to sew doll dresses for a grandchild and hemmed her pants. We keep in contact and i get new pics of what shes made.
