About Anna-Kay
Every student is unique in their manner of learning. I do not have a "standard" cookie cutter method of tutoring/teaching. I like to learn about the student's background and interests. Once that is acquired I can move forward with creating a tailored curriculum or timeline of topics to be learned.
Helping students realize that what they learn in school is applicable to life. It's hard for them to see the connection(s) when they're in school all day.

Prior Science Coach (Biology & Chemistry) for Olympiad Science Competitions

First, I find out what they're hobbies, interests and activities are.
Next, I ask them about the subject (s) they like the most or the least and why.
Then, I then give an assessment test (based on the subject in question) to gauge their strengths and weaknesses in that particular subject.
Finally, I create a curriculum that contains exercises and a list of resources that can strengthen their weaknesses in the subject they're having difficulty in.
