About Michaela

I enjoy helping students better understand things that they want to learn about. Especially things that they can have fun doing as they age and polish their skills, such as woodworking or ceramics. While i admit i am no master of any craft and i am not certified by any fancy school, i have passion and dedication to those who ask for my help. I may not be perfect, but as you learn, so do I. I honestly think that someone who admits that they are not a master of their chosen craft is more honest and approachable than someone who thinks they know everything about their subject.

I love seeing students who were hesitant and unsure of themselves gain confidence in their chosen subject. It is a moment of great pride for me when i can honestly say i have nothing more to teach them.

I may not be certified to teach anything but i love helping people who enjoy these subjects understand more deeply and fully.

I took several years of japanese in high school.

I am an avid writer and lover of anything that can be written or read.

I have been doing woodworking since i was 11 years old, i have made countless items ranging from pens and cutting boards to chess sets and bent wood rocking chairs. I am confident in my ablity to help anyone make almost anything out of wood. I even sell walking sticks that i carve and paint by hand.

About the lesson

First we establish what they have already learned and any points that they want to re-visit to better understand what they want to focus on in the subject .

I have worked with many younger children in my home state, simple things mostly, but i am confident in my ability to help anyone who might ask.

Get to know the person before you decide to hire them. Its better to spend an hour talking with someone and decide that you would rather find someone you like more than be hasty and hire someone on credentials only and then be stuck with someone you cant see eye to eye with.

I have no set price. I would rather help someone do something they enjoy or finally figure out something that has been stumping them than worry about the price. We can do the lesson and then decide on a fair price after. Or beforehand, uf you would rather do that.
