About
Welcome to Lassiter Literacy, your dedicated partner in educational success. Based in Hyattsville, MD, we specialize in personalized reading tutoring services using the Orton-Gillingham approach which is based on the Science of Reading. Our approach focuses on building both reading and writing skills and confidence, ensuring students not only achieve measurable reading growth but also develop a genuine enthusiasm for reading. Whether your child needs assistance in learning to read or more advanced language arts, Lassiter Literacy is committed to fostering an engaging and supportive learning environment tailored to individual goals.
I have 31 years of teaching experience. I am Maryland certified in Elementary and Middle School teaching, Reading Specialist and a National Board Certified Teacher in Literacy/Language Arts: Early and Middle Childhood.
Tutoring sessions are held in-person, twice a week for 45–60 minutes, at local libraries in Hyattsville, College Park, Takoma Park, and Silver Spring.
I accept credit cards, Cash App, Venmo, Zelle, and PayPal for tutoring services.
