About Ashton
Welcome!
My name is Ashton and I am the founder of Rebel Minds Learning. I provide virtual reading and writing support using the Orton-Gillingham Method. These specialized one-on-one intervention sessions, are tailored to support individuals with dyslexia and other reading difficulties. The comprehensive approach focuses on building strong foundational skills in reading, spelling, and writing through multisensory techniques, fostering confidence and success in literacy.
In addition to reading and writing support, I also offer one-on-one executive functioning skills coaching to empower individuals with the tools they need for success in school and daily life. This tailored approach focuses on developing organization, time management, planning, and self-regulation skills to unlock each student’s full potential
A little about me: I am originally from the United States, but have been living and teaching abroad in Latin America for over 8 years now. My educational background includes a bachelors degree in K-12 special education and a masters degree in educational psychology. I have nearly a decade of special and general education teaching experience and am bilingual in Spanish and English.
I hold initial certification and ongoing training under a mentor from the Orton Gillingham Academy to deliver interventions using the Orton Gillingham Method. But beyond my qualifications I am a curiosity driven learner, a dog lover, adventure seeker, and all around advocate for my fellow rebel learners out there!
