About Amy

I love to help students lean to read. I enjoy going over those tricky vowel pairs that cause struggles. I have experience in Pathways to Reading which is phonics instruction and is research based. I also enjoy helping student with beginning math skills. I have worked with Touch Math and basic math instruction with much success.

I have been a Special Education teacher in kindergarten through 3rd grade for six years now. I have a lot of experience with modifying instruction to meet student needs.

I live in a small southern Kansas town. I've taught for six years and still do it for the love of kids. Any progress is good progress no matter how big or small. I want to celebrate each one with your student.

I have a Master's Degree in Elementary Education, a Special Education Certificate, and a Bachelor's Degree in Public Relations/Advertising.

I started substitute teaching over 10 years ago and found that working with kids is my passion. I then got my Master Degree in Elementary Education and my Special Education Certificate.

I am currently a Special Education Teacher working with students ranging from kindergarten to 4th grade. I specialize in reading and math instruction.

I have a Master's Degree in Elementary Education. I've been trained in Pathways to Reading phonics instruction. I know how to modify instruction to suit a student's needs.

About the lesson

First I want to know more about them. Favorite color. Favorite movie. Favorite thing to do. Favorite person. Anything to help me understand the student. Then I want to find out where they are in their learning. After that I will design activities around what they enjoy somehow.
