About Julia

Hello everyone!

I am Dr. Iannucci! I am an early career neuropsychologist with a doctorate in Clinical Health Psychology and specialized training in Neuropsychology. As a young professional in the field with a breadth of hands-on clinical, academic, and research experience in the field of psychology, I am able to go beyond basic teaching by explaining how information might be applied in practical settings and beyond.

My passion revolves around connecting with others of all ages and backgrounds and facilitating the learning process! Throughout my undergraduate and graduate education at the masters and doctorate level, I have had the chance to observe and be mentored by a multitude of established professor's teaching styles, and integrate them with my own.

I have had the honor of mentoring and teaching students at the undergraduate, masters, and doctoral level in health psychology, psychobiology, abnormal psychology, developmental psychology, anatomy and pathophysiology, foundational behavioral science, and more!

Additionally, as someone who has successfully navigated and mentored others who wish to pursue a career in psychology, I am uniquely positioned to provide guidance for anyone looking to better plan out their educational road map for college and beyond.

Why study with me?:

-I adapt the pace and stye of learning to your needs and skills.

- I am sensitive to and can accommodate for various learning abilities and disabilities.

-I am responsive to emails (within business hours).

-As someone who has studied and practiced in the field of psychology since high school, I am knowledgeable of content at all levels of education.

-I am passionate about learning and teaching. Just a few minutes of talking to me about the field will make that apparent!

Feel free to reach out with questions!

My passion for teaching and mentorship started back when I was in high school. I had the opportunity to coach middle-school aged students in a "Learn to Row" program and introduce them to the sport of rowing. Additionally, I worked as an indoor climbing instructor for children of all ages and ability levels.

I became involved in psychology research early on in college and during my sophomore year, became a project manager and lab manager. Over the course of three years, one of my main responsibilities was to teach students and lab members the scientific method, and how to conduct research. I also regularly tutored and led study groups for foundational psychology courses. Additionally, throughout college I worked as a teaching assistant in various settings including with 6 to 10 year old students with developmental disabilities and other special needs, and as a teaching assistant in preschools.

During my doctoral and graduate education. I continued to seek out various opportunities to teach in more formal settings and held both teaching assistant and lead teaching assistant positions for doctoral level psychology courses.

I have a Doctorate in Clinical Health Psychology (PsyD) and a Master of Science in Clinical Psychology. I also have a Bachelors Degree in Psychology.

I completed my doctoral education at an American Psychological Association (APA) accredited university. During this 5 year program, I completed 120 credits of doctoral level psychology coursework and held a 3.95 GPA in addition to 3 years of clinical training prior to my 5th year full time internship in Neuropsychology.

I have worked with students in high school, college, and across various levels of graduate education including students pursuing masters degrees, doctoral students studying psychology, and students in other graduate medical programs.

I also have specialized training and a breadth of experience in less traditional (non-academic) teaching settings including leading a series of educational classes on brain health with older adults, and individualized 1-on-1 teaching with individuals experiencing cognitive difficulties.

Look for someone who has experience beyond the classroom! Teachers who have provided clinical care (aka taking those psychology concepts and using them with patients) have real world experience applying psychology concepts. This can make a huge difference for a student who is struggling to understand various concepts, or see the bigger picture when questioning "why do I need to know this?"

Someone with experience in clinical care or research can also make the learning process more interactive by bringing lessons to life.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
If you are able to identify some of the things that help facilitate your learning that is generally very helpful! Sometimes, this is easier said than done. If you are still figuring out what works best for your learning style, or just don't know- that is okay!

Alternatively, what you might know, are some of the things that have not worked for your learning style. Thinking about and sharing what does not help you learn can be just as helpful to share with teachers/tutors!
