About Judy

We offer private and small group classical Pilates instruction on the apparatus for all levels of fitness. The classes are small and individual attention based to help the client to an authentic movement experience. This is not a one size fits all studio. Our approach to quality movement is looking at the whole body’s fascial system and understanding where the restriction and mal-alignment are causing dysfunctional patterns. First a client may need to work on fascial releases in the spine, hips or shoulders, prior to Pilates work to free up limited range of motion. With a released fascial system Pilates can be approached on a deeper level maximizing the benefits of Pilates work. Judy Hudson, is a licensed PTA, MFR therapist John Barnes Approach. Her studio was founded in 2004 in Easton MA and she currently works out of her private home in Foxboro.

As a results driven teacher, I love to see a body morph into the best they can be. Working side by side with a client sharing struggles, achievements and seeing personal and physical growth is priceless.

I have always been inspired to move all my life. I love to walk, run, hike, kayak, play tennis, dance and just about anything that requires the body to move. I had an innate interest in learning how the body works and the marvel of all the muscles and bones. I learned as a physical therapist that not all movement is good movement to avoid injury there is a right and wrong way or natural way to move the body. Pilates was that conduit because of the intuitive brilliance of the method.

Judy Hudson, is a licensed physical therapist assistant for 20 years and a Peak Pilates certified instructor for 12 years with continuing education classes with The Pilates Center in Boulder, CO. A certified John Barnes Myofascial Release therapist for 8 years.

About the lesson

A student makes an appointment either online, email, text or phone. They are given instructions on what to wear and will fill out a health and liabiltity form. A private intro class is recommended to determine clients fitness level and goals and understanding of the Pilates principles. The client receives an overall studio apparatus guide to proper form and safety on the machines and will learn a Pilates basic routine that will be layered upon with more challenging exercises as client progresses. First time myofascial release clients must watch a short video about how we treat using MFR.

All ages, sexes, sizes and fitness levels. Injuries, non athletes, professional athletes, weekend warriors, dancers, musicians and any occupation that requires repetitive movement.

Make sure you do your homework. Not all Pilates teachers and myofascial therapists are alike. There are many different styles of Pilates exercise and myofascial release out there. Mat vs machines or both. Group classes vs private lessons. Do your due diligence in the teachers education, experience, reviews and overall business practices. Have a phone conversation with the teacher/therapist if possible and get feeling with a real voice on the phone if it could be a good fit, both professionally and personally. Remember self care and healing the body is a personal journey and the right teacher/therapist will provide you with ample opportunities to transform your life.
