About Michael
Simplicity, creativity and easy to understand are words to describe me and the way I give piano lessons. Lessons are then personalized based on the motivation/ability of each student. My rates are very competitive.
I basically became interested in teaching as a means of making a secondary income, in addition to my regular day time job.
I have been playing piano over 40 years and took several music classes in college, including music theory, which is the basic framework for learning how to play piano.

The first thing that I do is assess what level the new student is at, then come up with a customized plan to help them achieve their short/long term goal, what ever that may be.
I'm relatively new to the teaching scene, but I can work with students of all levels/ages.
I'm not really a fan of reading sheet music, and I like to make learning fun/simple. I have a very pleasant personality with a good sense of humor, which goes a long way!
I recently received my 650th view of my piano video on You Tube! You can find my video entering Michael the piano man in search.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
I can't really answer this one. As long as the student has a positive attitude with the desire to learn, that's mostly what counts!

Details
I always try to work within the student's budget and charge the lowest price possible. $40 per hour, $30 for 45 min and $20 for 30 min at my home. (Depending upon where you're located, I might need to add a few more dollars for outcalls).
