About Kylie

A tailor-made piano learning method is designed to suit every student's unique needs and interest.

I enjoy helping my student make progress and enhance their musicality.

I had my first student when I was only 10. My student was 15 years older than me. I also taught my neighbors and sister to play the piano at a young age. I really enjoy sharing my learning experience and helping others achieving their goals on their music journey.

I earned a Doctor's of Music Degree from Florida State University. I was a graduate teaching assistant at FSU. I got my Master's Degree from Indiana University, and Bachelor's degree from The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, majoring in piano performance. I have received professional pedagogical training during studies. I served as an associate instructor at Indiana University.

In addition to teaching the piano, I have over ten years of experience in accompanying and coaching award-winning choirs.

About the lesson

We would start with a free sample lesson in order to know more about each others, such as musical background, interested musical styles, and goals. Then, we will see how we could work together in the future.

Since high school, I have worked with a broad range of students ranging in age from 3 to 60, including students with learning difficulties, autism and ADHD.

Estela

A wonderful musician and teacher that is trustworthy, responsible, and flexible and most importantly works hard to build a connection with her students, to meet my child where she is at, inspiring her to stay devoted to music.

Kylie is tremendously patient, knowing how to motivate little kids, super organized, and of course very musically talented! We especially love how she sends us recorded videos to review after lessons. More importantly, she inspired my son to develop a passion for piano. :)

Kylie has been our daughter's piano teacher for a little over a year by now since my daughter was not even 5 year old yet. Kylie is a patient, and effective teacher. We started with Kylie via in-person lessons through IU's Young Pianist Program, and since the pandemic started, we've been taking lessons virtually with her. One might think online piano lessons will be challenging, but our daughter still loves piano and is making good progress, and loves Kylie! As a parent, we also appreciate that Kylie is super punctual and organized. We highly recommend her!
