About Jeff

I have an amazing passion for music and sharing it with others. Trained as both a classical vocalist and a pianist/accompanist at UW-Madison, I love transferring my musical knowledge and Music Education degree and certification in vocal/general music to bring music everywhere I go. I give vocal/piano lessons to ages 6-adult. I have extensive experience with teaching music of all ages and levels. My joy for music teaching as fun and informative shines through my lessons and I can teach based on your variety of needs/reasons for learning music. I would love to teach you, your child, or whoever you need lessons! I travel to you in or near the general Madison area or teach online!

I love teaching and pursued it as a career! My experience music directing musicals in my college career helped me to realize that I thrive in a one-on-one lesson setting. In those settings I have done musical coachings, lessons, and technique heavy sessions.

I have a degree in Music Education (Choral/General) and many years of professional piano experience.

About the lesson

The first lesson will mostly be finding out what musical knowledge the student has and why the student wants to learn. Then, a lesson plan will be created and catered to each specific student.

I have mostly worked with college-age students but have experience teaching music to ages 6-adult. I work with anyone who desires learning music!

Make sure to hire a teacher who you would mesh well with; someone who shares similar values on music as you and someone who you feel will support you in your endeavors.

I was able to music direct the premiere in Wisconsin of a musical, Ghost Quartet by Dave Malloy, and play in the pit. An entire act was in the dark so I had to play the pit piano memorized with minimal light to help me and it was an amazing challenge! I also loved coaching and helping the singers and instrumentalists, seeing them grow as musicians along the way.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Make sure you know why you want to learn the instrument you want to learn/voice. Passion is definitely a valid reason!
