About James

I have a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and I am an experienced EMT, who can tutor in Middle/High School and College level Sciences such as Biology, Chemistry, Anatomy and Physiology, and Physics. I can also tutor in middle/high school math such as Alegebra, Geometry, and calculus. I am also available to tutor nursing subjects, drug calculation, nursing pre reqs, and EMT class/test preparation.

I have a passion for science and medicine. In 2013, I joined my local volunteer ambulance service as a junior member and have loved the field of medicine and helping others since then. I progressed to studying Nursing at the University of Scranton, where I obtained a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, and I am looking forward to beginning my career as a Registered Nurse.

I have a specific passion for Obstetric/Women’s Health Nursing, as well as Emergency Medicine. My extensive education and field experience will enable me to help students survive and thrive in Nursing School, EMT school, and science classes!

I hold a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree, with coursework that includes Biology, Microbiology, Chemistry, Psychology, Health Assessment, Medical Surgical Nursing, Mental Health, Obstetrics and Womens Health, Pediatrics, and Research. Additionally, in high school I took honors level science and math classes including Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Calculus, Algebra, and Geometry.

About the lesson

I first like to determine the student's weaker areas by giving a diagnostic practice test that covers the major topics of their class. From there, I evaluate which specific topics they struggle with and create a plan with them to focus on those areas. Additionally, I like to set mutual goals with the sudent so that we both have a clear plan of what we plan to go over.

Students should look for a tutor that they mesh well with. Often in school, students do not have a choice of teacher that fits their own unique learning style. Thus, students and parents should seek a tutor that is willing to evaluate and teach the student as an individual.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Students should have an idea of specific topics they struggle with. Tutoring sessions are designed for specific instruction to clarify specific topics; they are less meant for doing things like homework and assignments. For each session, students should think about clear goals they want to accomplish within that session.
