About Tom
I am well read in all the sciences. I majored in Chemistry and biochemistry in college. I went to medical school at UTMB Galveston. I can readily teach courses in chemistry, organic chemistry, biochemistry, physics, anatomy, physiology, and microbiology. I have been a practicing emergency medicine doctor for many years. I have been tutoring biochemistry since medical school and I have been tutoring chemistry, physics, math, and reading.....primarily on the college level and for the SAT and ACT since 2010.

I have always enjoyed teaching. I particularly enjoy teaching young minds that are moving toward medical school, dental school, optometry school, etc. The only way that a young person can excel is with 2 things: a good teacher and a tremendous desire to learn. It will be my pleasure and my mission to lead the student along a path of learning that has made me and many others successful because of how one must prepare and learn the subject at hand. I will teach the student "test sophistication" which is my philosophy for acing exams. I will give the student all of the pearls of wisdom that I have that led me successfully into a career in medicine.

I have always been very good in school from the first grade thru high school and from college thru medical school. I have always enjoyed the material from all of my courses. It is only natural that some of your friends and acquaintances will have some difficulty in one class or another and I began voluntaring to teach them the subject at hand. So, I started tutoring people many years ago and I have been pretty good at it. My students do excel once I have trained them.

Speak to each other over the phone initially to get to know each other (no charge), and find out what the student's concerns are. I will explain how I tutor and what to expect. I will also find out more about the best schedule for our sessions.
Mostly high school for ACT and SAT and physics and chemistry. And, mostly college students that are pre-med preparing to take the MCAT test for entry into medical school. I also teach college students chemistry, biochemistry, physics, anatomy, and physiology. Sometimes I teach some algebra and trigonometry.

Details
Generally, I charge $100 / hourly session. I spend a lot of time reviewing for the next session and I review the student's tests and practice quizzes from his or her course. A lot of time goes into prepping for the next session.
