About Carolyn
I received my BS in Chemical Physics from UC San Diego and am currently a 4th year Chemistry PhD student at the University of Pennsylvania. I have lots of experience problem solving, tutoring students in science and math, and I have been a TA for general chemistry lab to UPenn undergraduates. I spend time in advance preparing for my students lessons and tailor my tutoring to match the students needs and preferences.
What I enjoy most about tutoring is the joy of helping someone else suceed and building their confidence up in challenging subjects, such as the hard sciences. I enjoy helping students tackle problems from angles they hadn't considered, and applying real world applications to make challenging problems more relevant and understable. I would love to help you or your child succeed and hopefully make chemistry, physics, and math and bit more enjoyable.
I recieved my BS from UC San Diego in chemical physics and I am currently pursuing a PhD in Physical Chemistry at the University of Pennsylvania and have a 3.95 GPA. In undergrad I spent time tutoring other undergraduates in physics and calculus. As a graduate student, I have taught general chemistry laboratory to ~30 graduate students.

My typical process for working with a student is to first have them send me their homework or other materials they want to cover, as well as, information about the textbook they are using. I will then tailor my lesson to better cover this and help them work through their trouble spots.
My main expereince is with tutoring and teaching undergraduate students, but I have also worked with students as young as elementary school aged. I would also be happy to work with adults who are pursuing studies later in life.
