About Alycia
I like to focus on abstract or surreal interpretation of the natural world. Students are encouraged to express themselves through their individual painting styles, while working in a group setting. My painting classes include 6-8 homeschooled students, working with watercolors or acrylics. I also paint with oils, mixed media, epoxy resin, and I sculpt.
I have a degree in communications, focusing on graphic arts, and a degree in art education.

I start by ascertaining the skill level of the student, and how comfortable they are, working with the chosen medium. We can begin with prepping a canvas and working on basic backgrounds, shapes, shading, and blending, or for a more advanced student, we can begin working on the areas they feel they are struggling.
I work with homeschooled children who need art lessons and socializing. Some of my students are elderly, and enjoy painting as a hobby. Others are adults trying to learn a new skill, or parents spending time with their children. Painting classes are also a great birthday party activity.

Details
For group lessons, I charge $30 per student, per class, for acrylics or watercolors, or $50 per student, per class, for oils or air dry clay sculpting. Materials are provided. Group lessons are 6-10 students, for one hour. For individual lessons, I charge $50 per class for acrylics or watercolors, or $80 per class for oils or air dry clay sculpting.
