About Robby

As you will see on (concealed information) we are far more than just a gallery. Our greatest passion is teaching and paying forward the joy of oil painting, in a family oriented environment. We create art and relationships, that we treasure. We host oil painting workshops as well as do one on one, private lessons. We work in various styles, primarily in landscapes, seascapes, cityscapes, etc.. Contact us today, to begin your journey.

I got started teaching by way of some folks asking me if I would be interested in it. It was immediately something that I loved to do.

I am a self taught artist, who’s experience comes by way of thousands of hours honing my craft and teaching others.

About the lesson

1.) A general introduction and self authored Power Point information presentation.

2. Begin working on actual studies, applying the information in the presentation. At this stage, we typically begin with painting a very simple landscape together.

3.) We begin a still life piece with step by step instruction.

4.) A body of water piece, with step by step instruction.

5.) Cityscape, with step by step instruction.

6.) At this point we will begin painting pieces with a higher degree of difficulty.

I presently work with homeschooled students (privately and in workshop settings), high school ‘gifted and talented’ students, who are pursuing art at the next level, and general students of all ages.

Make sure you get a teacher who genuinely cares about you and your progress as an artist. Find one who doesn’t ‘keep secrets’ as to their methods and techniques. Far too many times, painting teachers will withhold some of their techniques for various reasons and that isn’t fair to someone who is paying and trusting you for your services. Look at the comments on their Facebook page, etc.. to see the responses and reactions of those who have interacted with said teacher.

I was able to help a student of mine complete projects for her governors scholarship program entry, as well as write her letter of recommendation. Though, we are still waiting on the results of that hard work, I am so proud of her work and effort.
