About Jacqueline

I am a teaching artist who enjoys helping my clients/students reach whatever goal they have for themselves.

I have 15+ years experience teaching voice at all levels ages and styles. I feel honored to have of worked with conductors, musicians and other singers from all around the globe. I have lead masterclasses at universities and professional young artists programs. I have a love for teaching that shows in the dedication and focus I give to my students. There is always something new to learn! We never stop growing and teaching singers how to express themselves in a healthy way through their voice is my most cherished achievement.

I have a Bachelor's degree from Oberlin College and have spent the past 8+ years teaching several subjects in a Music Program. From Voice lessons to Music Theory. I am very confident I can meet and exceed your expectations in any aspect of a musical education. I am also still a practicing singer and perform regularly.

I take a holistic approach to my teaching which means I am very aware and careful to help you use your instrument (and therefore your body) in the very best and healthiest way possible. My favorite part of teaching is helping students beome confident well rounded performers and knowing I have given them the tools they need to succeed in any path they take. From singing with a band for fun to auditioning for professional engagements. A strong foundation for any style or genre is essential!

About the lesson

I begin with an introductory session. Get to know your needs and your voice and let you get to know me a bit. The voice is a very personal instrument. Being comfortable is very important.

Every lesson from here on out is tailored to your exact needs. If you are a begginer we might start with a little ear training and vocal warm up, some light theory if you are new to reading music and then into scales or a song we've chosen together.

If you are more advanced then we spend some time on technical exercises to train or maintain the voice and then into the music you are preparing whether it be something we chose together or music you have brought for a speacial project or performance. We apply tools and techniques to make sure everything is smooth and sung healthy.

I will never have a cookie-cutter way of dealing with my students. They are all individuals with special and unique needs.
