About Heera
Raga Academy of Indian Music preserves the musical heritage of India. Structured curriculum from Gandharv Mahavidyalay is used to teach children & adults. Spots are available for Indian Vocal music classes for adults and children. I have been teaching Indian vocal music since 2003 in Sacramento area. I also teach Online classes via Skype. I have a degree in Indian classical music & have just completed my first book on Introduction to Music of India, Volume 1. This book serves as a textbook for the one year certificate course. I also have a Masters degree in Education.
One of my important goals is to propagate Indian music & serve the community in all the best possible ways. I love preserving our rich heritage, in the now & the next generation, by teaching Indian music to students from 5 years to adults. I am the unofficial "Cultural Ambassador of India".
College degree in Indian Classical viocal music & I am also a performing artist. In addion to this training I also have a Masters degree in Education & teaching credential both from CA State University, Sacramento, CA. I have taught in elementary education for twenty years and have taught Indian vocal music for more than 15 years.
