About Hannah
Hello! My name is Hannah, and I am a biostatistics graduate student at the University of Iowa. I have a bachelor's degree in statistics with a minor in mathematics. While in graduate school, I have worked as a TA for introductory biostatistics and statistics courses. This role includes leading lab sessions, holding office hours, and providing feedback on assessments. I have also held one-on-one tutoring sessions for calculus and college-level algebra classes.
Math and statistics are not something that comes easily to me, but they are topics I enjoy and am passionate about. This perspective has allowed me to help students who find numbers to be intimidating. I find that breaking concepts down into small steps and explaining thought processes helps me the most. When one explanation or process does not make sense to a student, I always make an effort to reframe ideas. This is a skill I have always valued in my teachers and professors, and so I want to consciously replicate it.
In terms of software am familiar with RStudio, SAS, and Mathematica.
