About Josh

Get your student the tutoring they need from an actual professional in their field. I am an Electrical Engineer currently working for a major Semi-Conductor company. I got my Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering from California State University, Fresno, where I worked for the MESA School Program. MESA stands for Math. Engineering. Science. Achievement. and is a program to promote STEM (Science.Technology.Engineering.Math) development of Middle and High school students. With all of this experience, I have a great understanding and knowledge of math concepts, the practicality of these concepts, and how to help students reach their highest potential.

I got started with the MESA schools program, where I would help facilitate students with various projects and math exams.

I have a Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering from California State University, Fresno. I have five years of experience working with students for the MESA Schools Program. I have five years of experience working as an Electrical Engineer for a major Semi-Conductor company.

About the lesson

My typical process in working with a new student is to first assess where they are at. I do this with practical methods of just observing their thought process in doing an assignment. Math is just a set of tools, and there are many tools to that can be used to solve a problem. I allow the student to show me which tool they prefer and teach them how to use it.

I have worked with Elementary School, Middle School and High School students.

Advice I would give a student looking to hire a teach in my area of expertise is to look for someone who is not just a teach but is or at least has been a professional in the area. There is a difference in what is in text books and how things play out in real life. Real life will be confusing if you only learn from someone that only learned from a text book.

A recent event I am fond of is playing bass for my church's worship team.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
I think students should ask themselves what they really want, and if they want it enough to take the necessary steps for it. There is no destination without a journey, the best thing to learn is how to enjoy the journey.
