About Brandy
I am a middle school math and writing teacher who enjoys breaking math down in a way to help students understand concepts.
I am certified to teach Kindergarten - 8th grade.
I always knew that I wanted to be a teacher. As soon as I graduated high school, I began my education degree in college. I started teaching as soon as my degree was competed.
I am a certified teacher who works with students everyday. I am able to use the methods that work with my students and apply them when I tutor.

When working with a new student, I like to see what they already know and understand about what we are working on. Next, I try to relate the problem to real-life situations. I always show students how to work through a problem, then we work through several problems together until the student has shown understanding of the concept.
I teach whole group classes of both math and writing. In addition, I have 3 advanced math classes and 2 math classes for students that need additional assistance.
Look for a teacher that you feel comfortable with. You want someone who you feel comfortable enough to stop when you have questions!
I had several students who showed above average growth on their mid-year assessments. I was extremely happy to see how proud they were of themselves.
