About Laura
I am a certified middle childhood education teacher. I specialize in math and science. I absolutley love my job as a 7th grade science teacher but would love to help out and reach students who are sturggling to gain confidence in their work.
My entire life I have grown up wanting to be a teacher. During high school this really solidified when one of my teachers showed me that a teacher can do more then just teach you the information. She showed me how much she cared about my well being mentally about things that were not just what she taught about. The impact that she had on me is what I want to have on my own students. I wants kids to see that they can do anything and everything that they put their minds to, sometimes they just need to see that someone out there cares and is routing for them.
I have my bachelors in middle childhood educaltion specializing in math and science for grades 4th through 9th. I am currently a first year 7th grade science teacher but I have been daily subbing across many grade levels over that past 3 years.

The first and most important thing for me to do with a new student is get to know them and develop rapport with them. I think it is super imporatnt to know and understand how they learn, where their stregnths and weeknesses are as well as what their personal interests are outside of school. I think it is important to create that bond and develop the respect you need in order to help them see you care more then just teaching them the information.
