About Sankalan

I will be entering my third year at Rutgers University as a Mathematics and Computer Science Major with a Statistics Minor, and I love teaching! I have just decided to pick up tutoring this summer, and I have fallen in love with the effect I can make in a fellow student's life. I currently tutor 6 students in fields such as SAT exam, ACT exam, SAT Subject Math II exam, Pre-Calculus, AP Calculus AB/BC and Computer Science.

I enjoy teaching kids and helping them conquer their weaknesses. I am available throughout the week and am usually flexible on the weekends as well.

A family friend's mother had inquired about whether I could tutor her daughter for the SAT exam and for her math class at school after hearing about my college endeavors. I gladly accepted this offer, and have been doing it ever since!

I am studying to become a Mathematics and Computer Science undergraduate major, which I believe gives me the skill set to not only teach but help students understand what is going on in front of them to a depth that makes them understand forever. a wise man once said, "You give a hungry man a fish, you feed him for a day, but if you teach him how to fish, you feed him for a lifetime."

About the lesson

I typically like to start by getting to know the student physically, meaning there work ethic and mentality, then progress into trying to understand the students' weaknesses and misconceptions. Next is to attack these imperfections by hitting each individual chapter, and making sure the student is understanding the concept to the full depth that is required (sometimes more than what is required) in order to ensure success.

I have worked with high school students, specifically sophomores and juniors and some elementary school children as well. These students also share a wide range of prowess in the field from not doing so well in classes and SAT, to class toppers.
