About Zack

I'm a highly qualified math teacher with a lot of experience tutoring and in the classroom. I know how schools work and how to best help students succeed by implementing study strategies and manipulating external stimuli to maximize productivity.

Watching students improve is most rewarding for me. Students have almost limitless potential from my perspective, and helping students to realize that potential is the best part of my job.

In the year after I graduated from Binghamton University, I was taking certification exams to become an Actuary. I decided that wasn't for me, thought about it for awhile, and due to my past experience with teachers, I decided to become one myself and got a job as a tutor while going to Graduate School.

I have a Bachelors of Arts in Mathematics from Binghamton University as well as a Masters of Arts in Teaching with a Dual Certification in Special Education. I'll be getting certified to teach AP Calculus this summer.

About the lesson

My first goal is to diagnose their ability and effectiveness in absorbing new information. Lots of students have trouble in school because they don't know how to study or take tests optimally.

We talk about studying strategies, putting yourself in the best environment to maxmize success, and not being intimidated by assessments.

All kinds. While tutoring in college, I worked with kids that were more advanced. Since I've graduated, I've spent time working with students with more individualized needs.
