About Ashwin

I am a recent graduate of Duke University with a Bachelor's Degree in Neuroscience and minors in Chemistry and Sociology. I have prior experience working as an ACT Math/Science Tutor and SAT Math Tutor. I enjoy working with high school students and assisting them with the challenges they may face in Math and Science. My goal as a tutor is to clearly identify each student's weaknesses, develop a concrete plan which aligns with the student's preferred approach towards learning, and ensure that they achieve academic success in the classroom!

Started working at Kumon at the age of 15 and worked with students to help them master fundamental reading concepts.

Proceeded to get hired as an Organic Chemistry tutor at Duke University and enjoyed working with students in this setting.

Currently working part-time at Huntington Learning Center and as an independent contractor with TutorHero/Grade Potential Tutoring.

Experience working at Huntington Learning Center as an ACT/SAT Math and Science tutor as well as a general Math tutor. Achieved a 35 on the ACT (36R/36E/35M/34S) and a 1540 on the SAT (760R + 780 M)

Prior and current experience tutoring students in Honors and AP Chemistry, Organic Chemistry I, AP Biology, and math subjects up to Pre-Calculus.

About the lesson

1) Getting to know the student better, their associated strengths and weaknesses, and developing a solid plan to ensure that we're making tangible progress.
