About Aster
As a college student who is soon to graduate from Mt San Antonio College with an Associates in Social Justice and Sociology, I'm no stranger to a wide variety of academic disciplines. I have a passion for math, science, English, literature and social studies. Originally, I majored in Computer Science at Cal Poly Pomona, but, though I was skilled in programming, I found my interests aligning with the sociology-end of academia. Learning about the lives of others and how I can best bring kindness to my community with my knowledge and skills is my main goal in life, as eventually, I intend to go into the mental healthcare field as a licensed Psychologist. I have experience with tutoring other students, both as a peer and mentor. For several years I tutored my brother in high-school level math, and currently work in Behavior Intervention with children with special needs. Above all, I subscribe to the idea that if you have truly mastered a subject, you will be able to explain it to others in a way that is easy to understand. I hope to bring this mentality to whomever I work with!
